Australian Ratings Board Spills Info On Hydrophobia Sequel

by Jeff Cork on Apr 23, 2011 at 07:18 AM

Sometimes developers and publishers announce their games at press events, showing off tasty new titles in cinematic trailers or surprise demos. Other times, magazines and web sites reveal new releases through cover stories and long-form features. And then there are times when the veil surrounding a game is unceremoniously yanked aside by a game-ratings organization. In the case of Dark Energy Digital's next Hydrophobia game, Australia is to thank/blame.

Gamasutra has found a ratings entry for the new game on the Australian ratings board's site, which says that the game, called Hydrophobia Prophecy, has been given an M rating, meaning it's not appropriate for players younger than 12.

The first Hydrophobia, intended to be a trilogy, received middling reviews and was the subject of some controversy after a Dark Energy Digital representative accused reviewers of not playing the game in its entirety.
