Weekend Warrior 04/08/11

by Annette Gonzalez on Apr 08, 2011 at 02:15 PM

Check out what the Game Informer staff has planned over the next couple days then tell us what you're playing this weekend in the comments section!

Kato: My real-life hockey team (The Wingmen of the AHA) is in the playoffs, so hopefully we’ll be playing in the semis and finals all weekend. On the video game front, I’ve downloaded the demo for Torchlight and am going to get the one for The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. I’m curious to see if those games pique my interest. I’m trying to keep an eye on more downloadable games (see my blog for more of my gaming New Year’s resolutions), and I’m excited to see the best of what’s out there. I thought about diving into a full game like Crysis 2, but because of the upcoming release of Portal 2 (and limited free time until then), I want to make sure the decks are clear when it comes out so I have a good amount of time to devote to it.

Joe: It’s a weekend of replaying for me. Even though I’m in the middle of a couple newer games, I think I’m going to finish my latest Mass Effect 2 run (trying to kill most of my party), then keep pushing ahead with my second playthrough of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. If I manage to get all of that done, I’ll be grinding some random dungeons in Torchlight.

Tim: This weekend I hope to polish off Monster Tale. I haven’t had time to play the endearing little title and want to get back into it. I also need to dedicate more time to Dragon Age II, for fear that it could fade into that awful limbo where you return to an RPG and don’t remember what the hell you were doing.

Annette: I'll be in and out of Minneapolis over the next couple weeks for work and vacation so the bulk of my time this weekend will be prepping for my assignments. I recently dug out one of my fave PS2 titles, Frequency, thanks to the hypnotic soundtrack from Chime Super Deluxe so I may spend a little more time on that. Otherwise more Beyond Good & Evil HD for me and that's about all I'll have time for between running errands in preparation of skipping town.

Ben Hanson:
I have  busy weekend in front me, but number one in the game plan is to play some system-linked Halo 1.  The game is only 10 years old, but for some reason this feels like the cool retro thing to do, as if we were having a LAN party for Warcraft 2.  I’m also willing to bet that I will put some more hours into Smash Bros. Brawl.  Yes, despite the 30-hour marathon, I still love that game. Have a good weekend everybody!

Jeff Akervik:
I'm hoping to finally put Mass Effect 2 to rest this weekend, but having just landed tickets to the NCAA hockey national championship game, my focus might very well be elsewhere. We'll see. I can never finish anything in a timely manner – ever.

That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend?
