L.A. Noire An Official Selection At Tribeca Film Festival

by Jeff Cork on Mar 29, 2011 at 05:12 AM

Rockstar Games is gaining plenty of attention with its upcoming crime thriller L.A. Noire, and it looks as though some of it's bleeding outside of traditional gaming venues, too. The game has been chosen as an official selection at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival, the first time that a video game has received such recognition.

Rockstar will be giving attendees an world exclusive look at the game, including a live playthrough of one of L.A. Noire's cases, on April 25, as part of the Tribeca Talks series of panels.

“What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with L.A. Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking,” says Geoff Gilmore, Tribeca Enterprises' chief creative officer. “It’s an invention of a new realm of storytelling that is part cinema, part gaming, and a whole new realm of narrative expression, interactivity, and immersion. We are poised on the edge of a new frontier.”

Gilmore will be moderating a Q&A session focused on the game's development and story immediately following the live demo.
