Weekend Warrior 03/25/11

by Annette Gonzalez on Mar 25, 2011 at 02:00 PM

As the fresh snow we got this week slowly melts away, we may try and get out for a bit, but will most likely spend our time playing our favorite games. Here are the disks that will be spinning in our consoles this weekend. Let us know what you're playing in the comments.

Reiner: Ahem, tonight I’m a guest on the Overcast podcast so look out for that. Any other spare time I have I’m going to be playing DC Universe Online. I have to finish Homefront and Crysis 2 as well. Food of choice for this weekend endeavor: grilled cheese.

Bryan: I plan on finishing up the ilomilo expansion pack with a friend of mine and then we’ll dive into the *** with Hard Corps: Uprising.

Tim: I beat Infinity Blade. I love the game so much that I’d like to continue playing, but late in the game gold runs so low that you can’t buy new items, and you can’t level up if you don’t have fresh items. This is the game’s not so clever way of trying to get me to buy gold with real world bucks, which I won’t fall for. I’d rather buy a new game like Dead Space. Anyway, I’ll likely be playing Dragon Age II this weekend and a slice of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Reverie DLC.

Jeff M: My weekend will undoubtedly involve more Torchlight, as it’s the game that keeps on giving. However, after writing about a bunch of awesome PSN games for today’s feature (shameless plug), I think I'll download a couple of them and play those as well.

Annette: In preparation of next week’s release of the latest (and last) Mass Effect 2 DLC, I will put the finishing touches on the previous DLC I’ve been slowly working on. I have high hopes for Arrival. Can’t wait! Also more Dead Space and some Beyond Good & Evil HD.

Ben Hanson: After four months of waiting for a response, I was finally accepted into the (prestigious, no doubt) beta for Age of Empires Online. At this point I’ve only installed the game and listened to the music in the main menu. Despite being underwhelmed by the latest rendition of the Age of Empires theme song, I’m still looking forward to exploring the beta this weekend. I also finally caved this week and bought Minecraft. It is everything I’ve always wanted in a game, so I’m not sure why it took me so long to get around to it. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, but the server that I’m playing in is a little bit too developed. Does anybody out there have a fresh server up and running that I can crash in? I don’t own pets and I don’t smoke, but I do have a bad habit of slaughtering pigs.

Sean: This weekend, the Minneapolis Police will be called to pull me out of the office while I scream like a toddler, “I don’t wanna go!”  Then, on the way to jail I’ll play with my new iPhone.  Hopefully they let me out around the time Uncharted 3 comes out, so that’ll probably be my next game.

That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend? Also, we'll miss you, Sean!
