The cable channel announced that April 1 will mark the beginning of a new, crappier era in its history, as its new TV shows won't show up on Netflix Instant until 90 days after they air. Exclusive first-run movies will be similarly late at some point in the future.

Is this the first sign of the Netflix streaming honeymoon being over? It's sad, if so. I'm starting to be terrified of the other shoe dropping when Netflix's current agreements with big studios like Warner Bros. expire and need to be renegotiated, as studios have already sent warning signals about their future plans.

I realize that everyone has to make money, even monolithic media mega-corporations, but I'm hoping that they take consumer experience and value into account when the time comes to renegotiate.

I'm crazy like that.
