Multiplayer Silent Hill Title In The Works?

by Jeff Marchiafava on Mar 18, 2011 at 01:15 PM

We already know that the upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour will be a single-player affair, but if some amateur translators are correct, Konami may be attempting a multiplayer-based installment of the series in the future.

Xbox Magazine Ufficiale (the Italian edition of OXM) recently ran an interview with Silent Hill: Downpour art director Radek Marek, discussing the series. Hell Descent forum user SilentHiller posted a translation of one particularly interesting answer.

"At the moment there will be no multiplayer modes in Silent Hill: Downpour," Marek said, "but Konami are investigating a separate chapter devoted entirely to the multiplayer. We do not know the details but it should be an XBLA title that most players have to survive in the town of Silent Hill."

Keep in mind that Marek's answer has probably been translated twice -- once into Italian, and then into English -- so it's far from a confirmation. However, it is an intriguing concept for a Silent Hill game, and I for one wouldn't mind taking a friend along for the ride.
