Crysis 2 Backed By Hans Zimmer Soundtrack

by Matt Bertz on Mar 16, 2011 at 08:53 AM

The renowned composer best known for his work on blockbusters Inception and The Dark Knight is lending his talents to Crytek's new shooter.

The German born musician has been crafting film scores for over three decades. His career took off when he penned the music for the Barry Levinson film Rain Man, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. His crowning achievement thus far has been The Lion King soundtrack, for which he won the Academy Award, Golden Globe and two Grammys.

He first cut his teeth in video games by working on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 score. For Crysis 2, Zimmer and his team worked with the original composers Borislav Slavov and Tilman Sillescu to prepare the score for the game. You can preview the soundtrack here.

Crysis 2 hits store shelves next week. Check out a trailer of the game here.
