Analyst Expects New Nintendo Console Announcement At E3
In an interview with Leigh Alexander of Gamasutra, Stern Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia dropped a very bold prediction. Specifically, he believes there is a good chance that Nintendo will announce a new home console at this year's E3 convention.
"We would not be surprised if Nintendo unveiled the specifications of its next console at E3 in June this year, followed by product introduction early next year," said Bhatia.
This is based on his feeling that Nintendo's Wii -- which has been experiencing sagging sales in recent months -- is falling too far behind the technological curve set by the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As a result, Bhatia does not expect a new Sony or Microsoft console to be released for another two to three years.
