3DS Sold Out Across Japan

File this under "everyone saw this coming." As expected, the 3DS launch in Japan was a huge success, with all 400,000 systems spoken for in a single day. Almost every sale was a pre-order purchase, so there weren't any mad dashes or trampled consumers when stores opened up for business.

Nintendo plans on making 1.5 million units available in Japan by the end of March.
