Get Ready For Mayhem This March
This March Zoo Entertainment will release its new demolition derby action game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Here's what's included.
Mayhem 3D will feature 20 different racing levels across five arenas, and four game modes running the range from demolition derby to pole position races. There are over 120 vehicles to choose from, in six different classes of vehicles: muscle, sedan, wagon, coupe, truck, and monster truck.
Mayhem 3D's visuals are reminiscent of Sega's Mad World; most of the world is black and white, with a few colorful accents thrown in to spice things up. The developer also claims that Mayhem 3D will feature a "3D gameplay option compatible with any TV." How will the game achieve 3D on any television? Some kind of new-fangled technology? Not likely. The video on the company's website shows a pair of the old blue and red 3D glasses cheaply photoshopped over the corner of the video player. Which begs the question: How do you use color-tinted glasses for 3D when your game is in black and white?
The actual gameplay looks a little rough – I thought it was a downloadable title at first, but the game will sport a $39.99 price tag. You can check out a video of the game in action at the Mayhem 3D website.
