Apparently us gamers aren't just prone to murder and rape, we're also crappy drivers. A study by Continental Tyres polled 2,000 drivers (ranging in age from 17 to 39) about their driving habits, and found that the gamers claimed to be better drivers than non-gamers. However, twice as many gamers had accidents than the non-gamers. It also says that us nerds are twice as likely to accelerate too quickly, speed, and suffer road rage.

According to Continental safety expert Tim Bailey, “It seems that while gamers develop useful skills and are more confident, they need to apply some balance with a sensible assessment of risk. Playing computer driving games means good concentration levels and improved reaction times, however, they can take more risks than non-gaming drivers, possibly due to the lack of real consequences in games."

It makes sense, I guess. Whenever I almost run over a bunch of bikini babes in the Redwood Forest, I curse all that time in junior high I spent playing Cruisin' USA.
