Free DLC For Test Drive Unlimited 2

by Joe Juba on Feb 24, 2011 at 07:41 AM

To make up for a launch plagued by technical issues, Atari and Eden Games are giving away the first premium DLC for Test Drive Unlimited 2.

In what basically amounts to an apology, Atari is making good with the gamers who have stuck with the racing title by not charging for the Exploration Pack. In addition, in a post on the game's official forum, Atari has announced that the following fixes have been made to address technical issues:

  • Logging into the game has been improved
  • Once into the game the online network experience is now much more stable in all areas
  • Save games no longer corrupt
  • Existing corrupted save games will be repaired in many cases
  • Friends lists are now populated
  • Invites now work correctly
  • Clubs have been brought back online
  • Exploits to gain money have been fixed
  • Casino access has been improved
  • Players will no longer lose money because of the Casino bug

These fixes are currently available on PC, and pending approval on consoles. At any rate, it looks like a pretty serious list of problems...enough to make me wonder how many people have stuck with the game this long to see these problems addressed. Seriously, "save games no longer corrupt"? Who puts up with that?
