Rumored Name For Next Tales Game Is Pretty Dumb
Let me list a few titles from previous games in Namco Bandai's long-running Tales series: Tales of Legendia. Tales of Vesperia (pictured). Tales of Hearts. Tales of Graces. My point is, this isn't a franchise known for having particularly great, attention-grabbing names. The rumored title for the latest game in the series really takes the cake, though.
Silicon Era is reporting that Namco Bandai has filed a trademark for the title Tales of Town. I'll give you a paragraph break to let that sink in.
All good? It's worth noting that Namco has filed trademarks for Tales titles in the past that they haven't used, but in those cases they normally would file multiple trademarks at once and end up ditching some of the choices. This time around, Tales of Town was the only trademark filed.
I'll try to hold off on further judgment until we find out if this is actually a game that's being made, but come on. Tales of Town. Why even trademark that?!
