Catherine’s Difficulty To Be Addressed In Patch
Atlus’ intriguing action-adventure/puzzle game Catherine released in Japan last week, and evidently gamers are finding the title a tad too difficult. Andriasang reports that complaints about the difficulty level began to flood in after the game hit retail, indicating that it was too hard even on the easiest setting.
A response by Director Katsura Hanshio on the official Catherine blog indicates that the game will be patched as soon as possible to address the issue. Hanshio also noted that the intent behind the harsh design was to “make it so that players would feel the thrills of the nightmares and get a feeling of accomplishment.” He also admits it is also possible that the development team just got too good at the game.
What are your thoughts on patching the title? Should gamers buck up and deal with the difficulty? Or should something be done if even seasoned gamers want to throw their controller?
