21-Minute Minecraft Documentary Released
Curious about the story behind the indie phenomenon? Let the crew at Mojang tell you in their own words in this professionally produced video documentary.
Indie (naturally) video creators 2-Player Productions produced Minecraft: The Story of Mojang as a proof of concept for a feature-length film that they hope to finance through Kickstarter.com, as we reported last month. The company is aiming to raise $150,000 through the donation-based investment system, and is offering loads of goodies including special editions of the finished film and assorted swag to people who donate over the next month.
Minecraft sold its millionth copy last month, and Mojang has grown from a one-man company consisting of Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson to a group of seven like-minded gamers who are continuing development on Minecraft while working on an as-yet-unannounced second project.
