Man Blackmails Nintendo, Gets Arrested

Don't mess with Nintendo. That's the lesson learned from one Spanish man's attempt to hold stolen information hostage to gain a quick buck from one of the world's biggest video game companies.

According to PCWorld, the man burgled the private information of about 4,000 users from a Nintendo database. He then contacted Nintendo's Spain division and threatened to post the information online or file a complaint with the Data Protection Agency if his needs weren't met. That's blackmail, boys and girls.

Nintendo ignored the hacker's demands and got a hold of the authorities in early February. They have now tracked him down and taken him into custody, but not before he posted a portion of the stolen info online, however.

I hope that after this guy is tried and convicted Nintendo forces him to legally change his name to THIEF, like when Link is caught stealing in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Let's see him get a job interview with that on his resume.
