More Proof Of Raven's Involvement In A New Bond Game?

by Bryan Vore on Feb 09, 2011 at 10:50 AM

Now that MGM's problems have been squared away in regards to James Bond and a new film is finally moving forward, Activision is most certainly going to fire up its license for another game adaptation. But who will handle it? A new online hint points in Raven Software's direction.

The developer, known for titles like Singularity, Wolfenstein, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, hasn't announced its next project, but a rumor from December combined with new teases from a LinkedIn resume from one of its employees has speculation running wild.

The employee bills himself as the "creative director [on] unreleased international movie license action/adventure game at Raven Software." And he says he's "involved at highest levels of game design for an unreleased high-profile movie-license action/adventure game using the Unreal 3 engine." However, the one year and eight months development progress on the  game raises some questions.

How did they kick off a video game based on Bond 23 when it only recently got off the ground? Is it another game not based on a movie like James Bond 007: Blood Stone? Or is Raven working on another movie property?

The most likely alternate suspect is a game adaptation of X-Men: First Class. The studio has plenty of experience with the franchise, previously adapting X-Men Origins: Wolverine and developing both X-Men Legends games. First Class releases in theaters on June 3 so the team would have had plenty of time to work with the movie side during production.

If it's X-Men, then Activision will have to announce the game soon to build awareness before the film release. If it's Bond, the publisher will most likely wait until E3 for an announcement.

Which project would you prefer Raven tackle?
