BioWare Reveals The Old Republic Flashpoints

by Matt Miller on Jan 28, 2011 at 12:15 PM

A new video shows off these cooperative, story-based multiplayer events and the place they hold in the wider game.

There are a lot of exciting potential ideas at play in Star Wars: The Old Republic, but one of the coolest is the way the development team is trying to integrate MMO gameplay with more traditional single-player role-playing.

No element of the game shows off that interplay better than Flashpoints. These cooperative story missions are available throughout the game, from early levels on into the end game. The choices you and your team make  as you progress change the final outcome of the scenario, and simultaneously offer some of the best treasure and other rewards available in the game.

BioWare has released a new trailer showing off the Taral V flashpoint, but you can head over to the game's official site to read more about some of the other adventures you and your friends will be able to enjoy when the game releases, which is now looking like a timeframe near September.
