The first game shown on Sony's new "Next Generation Portable" stars Nathan Drake in a new adventure.

This title isn't developed by Naughty Dog, the team behind the PlayStation 3 Uncharted games, but they are providing supervision to Sony's internal development team.

The demo Sony showed takes place in a lush jungle similar to opening level in the first PlayStation 3 Uncharted. The game utilizes the NGP's rear touch panel for various motions in the game, including vine climbing -- performed by sliding your fingers across the screen. The front touch panel also comes into play for other actions, such as a stealth kill. After sneaking up on an enemy, the player simply taps the screen to take him down. For pinpoint targeting, players can use the handheld's gyroscopic sensor to line up their shot.

The demo was brief, but it shows that this new handheld is capable of playing games up to par with today's consoles.
