New Silent Hill: Downpour Composer Discusses Replacing Yamaoka
Silent Hill fans have been very vocal in the past regarding their appreciation of former series composer Akira Yamaoka. Fortunately for fans, the famed composer is being replaced by a man very familiar with horror - Dexter's Daniel Licht will be tackling Silent Hill: Downpour. We spoke with Licht in a recent interview about his thoughts on taking Yamaoka's place.
Outside of Dexter, Licht has made contributions to the Hellraiser, Amityville Horror, and Children of the Corn series. Silent Hill: Downpour marks his foray into the realm of video games, but the musical master is more than up for the task of replacing Yamaoka .
"I really like his work," says Licht regarding the former Silent Hill composer. "I have a lot of respect for his work, and I really like the series a lot. I’m trying to do my best to honor that and bring something new and exciting to that at the same time. That’s my intention. I’m hoping that the fans will be happy with it."
Keep your eyes peeled on Game Informer for the full interview, coming soon. Silent Hill: Downpour is due out this fall on 360 and PS3.
