NASCAR 2011 Dev Diary Gets Under The Hood

by Jeff Cork on Jan 20, 2011 at 04:05 AM

One of the challenges facing racing-game developers is how you cater to both the hardcore and casual fans. That's a particular problem with NASCAR games, considering the popularity of the sport. Not everyone who watches it on TV or attends races is interested in fiddling with suspension settings or the camber of a car's tires. This dev diary from Eutechnyx shows how the team is approaching those options with its upcoming title NASCAR the Game 2011.

While casual fans can drop in and enjoy the game with default settings, the more technically minded can twirl their wrenches with abandon. Tuning settings can then be saved and shared online. Check out the video below for more details, including plenty of footage of cars making fast left turns.

NASCAR the Game 2011 comes out on March 29 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.
