Razer Demos Portal 2 With Sixense Motion Controllers
Console owners aren't the only gamers who get to wave their arms around wildly. Today Valve founder Gabe Newell and peripheral manufacturer Razer showcased the Sixense motion controlling solution for PCs by playing Portal 2 during an Intel press event.
The wired controls, which were first introduced during last year's CES, look like oblong cousins to the Navigation companion that Sony sells separately from its Move wand. Razer uses a magnetic motion sensing technology to determine the controller's location and orientation, which the company claims doesn't suffer the from shadowing and drifting that often plague other motion controls on the market.
On the Razer website, the company foresees Sixense being used in all manner of games, including shooters, strategy, flight simulators, and racers. Tech gurus Engadget have a video of the demo you can watch by clicking here.
