Weekend Warrior 12/17/10

by Annette Gonzalez on Dec 17, 2010 at 01:15 PM

With a week remaining before Christmas, we're all hoping to spend a little quiet time this weekend with our favorite games before the rush of family members, ugly sweaters, and egg nog. Tell us what you're playing this weekend in the comments section.

Joe: I’ll be playing [CLASSIFIED] for review (awesome, but requires a ton of time), taking the occasional break to beat down Magneto in the X-Men arcade game. As Colossus, of course. Anyone who chooses Dazzler should just turn in their gamer’s license.

Bryan: I plan on playing some serious X-Men Arcade on Xbox Live any time I have a spare moment.

Dan: After beating X-Men Arcade six times in a row, you’d think I have seen enough of the mutants. However, I still have two achievements to grab, so I’ll revisit it at least once or twice more. Beyond that, there’s gonna be a lot of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and possibly some Quake Arena or Goldeneye Source.

Annette: Aside from handling the weekend news grind this weekend, my epic journey through Mass Effect 2 will continue on. Didn't get a chance to finish the Black Ops campaign as planned as a result of grown up responsibilities so that has made its way onto my gaming agenda as well.

Tim: Donkey Kong Country Returns is a thing that exists, and I couldn’t be happier that it’s a part of life. Donkey and Diddy will be continuing their quest this weekend with my aid. Additionally, Agent York will be coming out of retirement to continue his investigation in Deadly Premonition, and Alex will continue his journey through the foggy streets of Silent Hill: Homecoming. I also hope to personally report for duty in Black Ops. Also, X-Men Arcade and Super Meat Boy, of course.

Jeff M:
Now that the rush to play as many of this year’s games as I can is over, I’m going to return to the games that I really want to play. This weekend that will likely be the new Marvel tables in Pinball FX 2.  I was a little worried when my co-workers told me that Spiderman was by far the best table, but  after spending a couple of hours on both the Wolverine and Iron Man tables, I’ve come to enjoy them almost as much. When I’m not playing pinball, I’ll probably spend more time screwing around in the addictive ModNation Racers.

Jeff A: It’s all about Assassin’s Creed II for me this weekend. I’m absolutely loving it, which is somewhat unfortunate considering it just makes the wait for Brotherhood that much more agonizing. It’s tough being a gamer. I’m also continuing to work my way through Chrono Trigger. I swear, this game just doesn’t want to end; it just keeps going and going. Not that I’m complaining mind you. Regardless, I’ve got to get a move on so I can clear my plate in anticipation for ME2 coming out for PS3 next month. Good times.

That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend?
