According to BioWare, PS3 owners will be treated to a step up in graphics when Mass Effect 2 releases for the console next month. The reason? This version of the game will use the engine developed for Mass Effect 3.

In a podcast on BioWare's site, producer Jesse Houston says: "We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3. So we took the content, the story and all of the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2 and we put it into the Mass Effect 3 engine."

The PS3 version of the game will also include all of the bug fixes and patches released for the 360 version over the past year, along with all of the major DLC like Kasumi, Project Overlord, and Lair of the Shadow Broker.

So, in case you needed more ammo in your pointless arguments with your friends about which console is the best, there you have it.
