Run And Gun In Resident Evil: The Mercenaries
Joining Resident Evil: Revelations as the second 3DS title announced for the popular franchise, little information has surfaced about Resident Evil: The Mercenaries since its debut. New details about the title are hitting the web via Famitsu, however, and some of them are surprising.
As one would expect, the game is a 3D version of the Mercenaries mode that first appeared in Resident Evil 3, and has been a part of the series since. The parameters of the game have partners pairing up to defeat enemies within a set amount of time. This will translate to handheld play with Wi-Fi co-op for two players utilizing touch screen controls.
Mercenaries will shift from the traditional third-person view when aiming, allowing you to pick off enemies from a first-person perspective. Not only that, but Famitsu details that you will be able to move while aiming.
According to the article, we shouldn’t expect a story, as Mercenaries is intended to be “a pure gameplay experience.” Some sort of character and weapon progression/customization will be involved, however.
A release date wasn’t provided, but Famitsu listed the game as being 70 percent complete.
