New Pad Helps Stabilize Board Peripherals, Or Something

by Jeff Marchiafava on Dec 06, 2010 at 12:45 PM

We get some strange peripherals in the mail here at GI, but usually not strange peripherals for other strange peripherals. Enter Dek, a new peripheral designed to help increase stability with Tony Hawk's skateboard peripheral, as well as games that utilize the Wii's balance board. Yeah, seriously.

Here's a picture of the pad in its full, creepy suit-wearing monkey glory:

The pad is endorsed by pro rider Pat Milbery. "My board control was greatly improved with the Dek. The Dek graphics make me stoked to play," Milbery is quoted as saying, in a voice we can only assume sounds a lot like Keanu Reeves. If that doesn't sell you on this one-of-a-kind accessory, maybe these pictures of our own lovely Tim Turi using it will:

Here's the Dek, doing what it does. All it does

Look at the stability!

The Dek pad is available for $30 at getdek.com. Not that we're recommending it.
