Wahlberg, DeNiro, And Pesci Wanted For Uncharted Movie

by Phil Kollar on Nov 24, 2010 at 07:00 AM

Actor Mark Wahlberg has confirmed rumors that director David O. Russell wants him to take on the role of Nathan Drake in the upcoming film adaptation of Uncharted. Wahlberg certainly seems to fit the role, but what's more surprising is that Russell is also gunning for Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci for major supporting roles.

Speaking in an interview posted on MTV Multiplayer, Wahlberg himself confirmed that Russell is working on the Uncharted script with an "insane" idea and intentions to begin shooting the film this summer. Though no one has officially been cast at this point, Russell wants Wahlberg to play Nathan Drake, with DeNiro playing his father and Pesci as Drake's uncle.

Nothing's set in stone yet, but it certainly sounds like Russell's idea for the Uncharted movie strays from the groundwork laid in the current games. Does Wahlberg work as Nathan Drake for you? How about Pesci and DeNiro? Who would you rather have starring in the movie?
