Need For Speed Continues In Shift 2 Unleashed Trailer
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit has just hit the shelves, but Electronic Arts is prepping another title in the Need for Speed series. Shift 2 Unleashed is the second title in the franchises' realism-based Shift branch, and the game is scheduled to come out for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this spring.
Original developer Slightly Mad Studios is back at the helm, and if this trailer is any indication, the series' Duals are about to take on a much more serious tone in the new Driver Battles. This short clip emphasizes some very aggressive racing as well as plenty of car damage. This may be a glitzy trailer, but the developer is promising that the game itself will feature a stunning new look thanks to a new rendering engine, night racing, updated car damage, and even a first-person helmet camera. Moreover, Shift Unleashed is taking Hot Pursuit's Autolog online feature set letting you challenge friends and keep up with the wider NFS community.
The First Need for Speed: Shift was a good first step, if a little limited. Hopefully the developer can build and expand upon the first game to make the series stand out more.
