EA Announces Three New Indie Dev Deals For EA Partners

by Phil Kollar on Nov 10, 2010 at 02:25 PM

The EA Partners program has allowed the huge publisher to team up with some equally big developers, including Valve, Epic, and Insomniac. But it has also given EA the opportunity to put out smaller downloadable titles from up-and-coming indie developers like Hothead and Klei. The latest EA Partners deals fall into the second category.

EA announced today that they have signed deals with three independent developers: Montreal-based Trapdoor, New Orleans-centered Flash developer Borne Games, and Vanguard Games, a new studio formed by the guys who created Killzone developer Guerrilla Games.

Trapdoor will be releasing their first game under the deal, a downloadable title called Warp. While little information is available at the moment, the announcement mentions that it will be a sci-fi stealth action game with a "distinctive art style." Warp is planned for release on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC during the summer of next year.

Borne Games will be teaming up with Madrid-based Over The Top Games to bring popular Flash title The Fancy Pants Adventures to consoles. This hand-drawn platformer has over 100 million plays online, so there's probably something there worth checking out. The game will be available on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in spring 2011, but you can check out the Flash game it's based on right now.

Finally, Vanguard Games will be releasing a dual-stick shooter called Gatling Gears. The game is by the same team that did Greed Corp, a strategy title already on XBLA and PSN, and will be set in the same universe as that game. Look for it on XBLA, PSN, and PC in spring 2011.
