Darksiders 2 Will Feature Another Character
We already knew that Darksiders 2 was getting a sequel, but so far official details have been hard to come by. That's changed a bit after THQ's Danny Bilson gave a keynote speech at the IGDA Leadership Forum. In his talk, he gave a little insight about the next installment, including word that it will be starring a new character.
As Joystiq reports, Bilson said that War won't be the main attraction this time around. Could we see one of the other Horsemen in a sequel? Famine, Death, and Pestilence/Conquest all sound like pretty neat guys.
"When we do the Darksiders sequel, it'll be a different character and take place simultaneously to the other story," Bilson said. "There's only one apocalypse – I couldn't very well have four different apocalypses, one for each rider. It has some new mechanics and some very robust features that differentiate it a lot and grow it from the first game because you have to build on the first one, you can't repeat it. I think that's very important in franchise-building."
While it would be cool to bring another rider to the game, we wouldn't complain too loudly if the sequel brought the whole band back together. Darksiders' ending hinted as much, and it would be a sneaky way of getting co-op into the game. If they were interested in doing something with that, of course.
