Xbox Live Update On Track For November 1

by Meagan Marie on Oct 31, 2010 at 08:38 AM

Starting tomorrow a new look and added functionality is coming to Xbox Live. Email updates sent to Xbox Live users this weekend detailed the transition, stating that on "November 1, 2010, there will be a mandatory service update to Xbox Live. This update will both add new features to your service and also enhance the interface, navigation, and responsiveness of Xbox Live.”

Need a refresher on what the update will bring? Kinect functionality is obviously the largest overhaul, but the fall update will also include ESPN and added Zune compatibility, search options for Netflix, and other small additions which we’ve detailed here. A visual overhaul is also part of the package.

Remember, the update is mandatory, so if you decline you’ll be unable to connect to Xbox Live until you change your mind. The Xbox team says to expect the update to take 5-10 minutes in full.
