Don't Expect HD Remakes From Microsoft Anytime Soon

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 26, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Sony received a lot of praise for the God of War Collection, enough for SCE’s Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida to exclaim that the company will be bringing more HD remakes to eager fans in the future. Will Microsoft jump on the bandwagon with HD collections of its classic franchises? According to Microsoft vice president Phil Spencer, probably not.

"We obviously have a lot of new things going on, so the thought of re-doing a bunch of things is probably difficult to just weave into the overall portfolio," Spencer told IGN UK. "If you can provide real value to the customer, there could be possibilities for that, but I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it."

Looks like Xbox fans shouldn't waste too much time thinking about it either. What say you: Would you rather have Microsoft focus more attention on the upcoming Kinect lineup, or roll out a couple of upgraded collections of old Xbox games?
