Pokemon Beats Kirby In Japanese Sales Charts
Kirby's Epic Yarn came out of E3 with a ton of hype -- and so far the reviews of the game suggest that it more than lives up to our expectations. Sadly, the indefatigable pink puff was no match for another Nintendo property -- Pokemon. Basically, Pokemon rules Japan with an iron grip and the series current iterations, Pokemon Black & White, proved too much for ol' Kirbs. Pokemon (which, it should be noted, is actually two separate products), racked up another 160,000, boosting its total to well over 4.1 million units sold in Japan. Kirby's Epic Yarn managed a very respectable 92,000 in his first week, so let's hope good word of mouth keeps sales of the title strong in the weeks to come. Other notable titles on the Japanese top 20 include Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, Square Enix's Lords of Arcana and Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded and 2K Sports' NBA 2K11. Here's the complete list:
