Atlus Slashes Its Way To Profitability Thanks To Demon's Souls
Atlus, one of the industry's last bastions of unreservedly Japanese and hardcore-oriented gaming, had happy financial news to report today. Index Holdings (Atlus's parent company) posted its financial reports, which revealed that its Atlus division is comfortably in the black -- due in large part to the breakout success of Demon's Souls. Atlus posted $5.39 million in profits on gross sales of $40.7 million. Obviously, this is great news for a company that has long filled a much-needed niche in gaming. It's even better news for those of us that loved Demon's Souls.
