The Polish developer 11bit Studios, which recently came into existence with a crew of ex-CD Projekt folks, announced its first game this morning. Anomaly is a action-oriented tactical RTS that has players trying to hold back an alien invasion that shows up in the middle of Earth's cities without warning.
Anomaly appears to put players in charge of small squads from an overhead view. The press release touts the ability to take control of the action directly, but how that works exactly isn't clear.
The game consists of a story-based campaign as well as two challenge modes. The announcement says nothing about multiplayer, which typically means that it isn't there.
Anomaly is scheduled to release next year on PC, Mac, iPhone, and iPad. The screenshots show a suspiciously Xbox 360-looking command prompt, though, so quelle surprise when it is announced as an XBLA title in six months.
