Tony Hawk Developer Robomodo Reportedly Suffering Layoffs

by Bryan Vore on Oct 12, 2010 at 01:43 PM

Both Gamasutra and Kotaku are reporting separate stories citing inside sources that claim massive layoffs at Chicago-based Robomodo and the end of the developer's work on the Tony Hawk franchise.

The company's latest title, Tony Hawk: Shred is set to release on October 26. With the game certainly complete at this point, it stands to reason that layoffs would happen now. The Kotaku story estimates anywhere from 30 to 60 employees let go.

Robomodo's website doesn't appear to have been updated in awhile, and the company's Twitter account looks normal as of this writing. Strangely, this long list of job openings appears on the site.
