David O. Russell Back On Uncharted Film Adaptation
Not long ago, David O. Russell had backed out of directing the Uncharted movie, potentially setting back production bigtime. Now it looks like Columbia Pictures has lured him back to helm Nathan Drake's big screen adventure.
Hollywood Reporter says that Russell initially left to develop a movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but came back for some reason. The director of I Heart Huckabees and Three Kings will also write the screenplay.
"David is a tremendous choice to take on this film," said Columbia co-president Matt Tolmach. "He's equally adept at combining all the classic elements involved in this property: great character development, strong comedy and amazing action sequences. He has a brilliant vision for this material and we know he will bring his original, unique voice to this adaptation."
