The Old Republic Gets A New Planet

The sanctuary of Ilum was where Jedi went to build their lightsabers for uncounted generations. Before the dark times...before the Empire.

BioWare has revealed the new planet on a posting over at the game's official website. Ilum is the latest of over a dozen planets that have been unveiled so far for the huge new MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The icy planet of Ilum was discovered by the Jedi, where the order found a huge deposit of Adegan crystals that were ideal for use in the construction of lightsabers. The best Jedi have long traveled to the remote planet to build their signature weapon. More recently, the Sith Empire has invaded and overtaken the planet and its resources. The Jedi have begun to believe that their ancient enemies may know of something more valuable even than lightsaber crystals that waits on the conquered planet.
