Capcom Brings Its Arcade Classics To iPhone

by Ben Reeves on Oct 05, 2010 at 09:08 AM

This is so exciting that every classic arcade developer should be doing it. Capcom is releasing an arcade app for the iPhone that will let users play classic arcade titles like Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Commandos, 1942, and Street Fighter II.

The Capcom Arcade app will give users three free tokens each day to play any of the included titles. More tokens can be purchased, or a full cabinet can be bought for $4, which unlocks unlimited play.

Capcom intends to release a new cabinet each month, and the app itself will be free, which makes it hard to resist. A few pieces of DLC such as a cheat for Commando that gives players a bulletproof vest, might make this deal even sweeter.

Each game even comes with two difficultly settings, original, and an iPhone specific setting that alters the difficulty to ease people into using the revamped touch screen controls.

The app should be available the beginning of November, so grab some warm soda and some faulty neon lights and get ready for a classic arcade experience.
