Hitman Movie Producer Now Working On Just Cause Adaptation

by Jeff Cork on Oct 03, 2010 at 10:49 AM

Did you know that Just Cause had a story? Not only that, but that the story was good enough to adapt into a full-length movie? Color us surprised, too. Variety has reported that the Just Cause film rights have been optioned by Eric Eisner's L+E Pictures.

The project is still in its infancy, but a few details are known. The screenplay is being written by Michael Ross, who also wrote the screenplay for the 2006 horror movie Turistas. Adrian Akarieh is producing the film. Akarieh also produced another film based on an Eidos property, 2007's Hitman.

This one should be interesting, if it's ever even produced. While playing the sequel, I couldn't help but think I was participating in a gaming equivalent of a ridiculous action movie. That was great. Does it work the same way in reverse? We'll have to wait and see.
