Capcom Producer Wants Fans To Make Some Noise For Darkstalkers

Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono has a dream, and he needs your help. While he obviously cares deeply about his current project, according to an interview only one project makes his knees quiver. And that would be Darkstalkers.

Ono recently told Eurogamer that the success of Street Fighter X Tekken is critical if he wants to bring Darkstalkers to a new generation. Well, that and a little support from the fans. OK, a lot of support from the fans.

“They have to send in all these letters of plead,” Ono said. “That is the only thing that will make Inafune-san nod.”

How many will it take? Ono says about one million. When Eurogamer asked the logical follow-up question of how many Capcom has received thus far, Ono responded, “We’ve got 5,000.”

Ono’s not giving up hope, though. “The fans can make noise. Anything about Darkstalkers – they can write about it, or whenever there is a random blog ranking of what you want the most – if we see Darkstalkers that would help.”

If you’re a Darkstalkers fan, you’ve clearly got some work to do. If you though Morrigan was created specifically for Marvel vs. Capcom, on the other hand, you have some Darkstalkers research to do. It’s a pretty cool series, and it would be great if it got the Street Fighter 4 treatment.
