Japanese Hardware Sales Heavy On Handhelds

by Matthew Kato on Oct 01, 2010 at 10:25 AM

The Japanese sales figures for this past week don't show a lot of movement, and guess what – the Nintendo DSi remains the country's most popular system.

In fact, Nintendo did pretty well for itself (see chart below), with the DSi, DSi LL, and Wii getting respectable numbers. Meanwhile, Sony's PSP climbed from the number three position in the previous week to number two – thanks in part to the release of Sega's Black Leopard: A New Tale of Yakuza coming out, and the PS3 outsold the Wii as well.
