Mortal Kombat, Splinter Cell, Prince Of Persia Remakes Incoming? UPDATE

by Jeff Cork on Sep 27, 2010 at 11:30 AM

UPDATE: European game site jeux video is revealing supposed box art of the Mortal Kombat and Prince of Persia HD remake trilogies, adding further fuel to the belief that these game are headed for a retail release. The Prince box is shown below.

Original Story:
It looks as though Warner Bros. Interactive and Ubisoft may really be following Sony’s lead in rereleasing their games in spiffy HD updates. Eurogamer says that an Ubisoft source has told the site that “collections SKUs” may be coming in 2010. As Eurogamer reports, European game retailer Zavvi lists a Splinter Cell Trilogy and Prince of Persia Trilogy for preorder, with suggested retail prices of 30 Pounds a pop.

Game Informer’s parent company GameStop may have goofed by listing Mortal Kombat: HD Arcade Kollection. The link no longer works, but Joystiq points out that it invited customers to preorder the game, which had a suggested price of $39.99, for a November 16, 2010, release.

Neither Ubisoft nor Warner Bros. Interactive have officially announced the supposed collections.

What do you think? Would you buy any or all of these if they were released? What other collections would you like to see in 2011, if it were up to you?
