Gaming's Funny Men Reunite

Ron Gilbert has joined Tim Schafer's Double Fine to make a brand new game. Forecast: funny.

Legendary adventure game creator Ron Gilbert has accepted a position at Double Fine working with Tim Schafer. The two worked together two decades ago at LucasArts, and the fruits of their labor resulted in titles like The Secret of Monkey Island, one of the all-time classic adventure games.

In an interview with Kotaku, the two game creators joke about the upcoming project, but fall short of revealing its nature. Back in August, Double Fine revealed that it would be working on four new downloadable titles – the first two to be published by THQ. Whether Gilbert's new game fits within this schedule or not remains to be seen. However, given Double Fine's new embrace of downloadable titles, it seems likely that the new title might target downloadable platforms like PSN or XBLA.
