Director Of Kane & Lynch Movie Leaves Project

by Dan Ryckert on Sep 26, 2010 at 05:06 PM

Announced back in 2007, Lionsgate has been working on bringing Kane & Lynch to the big screen. They had the marquee names of Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx on board in the title roles, but the director's chair never had a solid name attached to it. It appears that this issue is causing another delay for the film, as the latest director tied to the project has left.

According to ComingSoon.net, French filmmaker Patrick Alessandrin was slated to start shooting the project next month. However, it appears that he's left the project and Lionsgate is scrambling to fill his spot. Names like F. Gary Gray, Wayne Kramer, and Antoine Fuqua have been discussed, but none are a sure thing.

With the poor reception of both Kane & Lynch games, would this project be successful even if production wasn't so messy? Whether or not this film ever sees the light of day is still up in the air.
