Amblyopia (commonly known as "lazy eye") can be remedied in children by reading with a patch over the dominant eye, forcing the weaker eye to strengthen. While this is effective with youthful subjects, it's much harder with adults. A new study by the Helen Willis Neuroscience Institute has found a better option, however - video games.

Twenty subjects ranging in age from 20 to 60 were used in the study, and those that played video games in two-hour bursts over the course of a month showed a 30% increase in visual activity. The study also showed that playing 40 hours of video games is equivalent to 120 hours of the standard therapy.
