Solid Snake, Boss Coming To Monster Hunter Portable 3rd...Sort Of
Metal Gear and Monster Hunter have developed a mutual admiration society of sorts. Following the Monster Hunter content available in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Capcom is now giving Konami some dap back with the announcement that the upcoming Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will feature appearances by famed MGS characters Solid Snake and Boss...sort of.
You see, Snake and Boss aren't actually IN the game, but armor sets themed after each character are planned to be made available in post-launch DLC pack for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. When you equip the armor on your character, they will look exactly like Snake and Boss, so essentially you can play the game as either of the stealth icons. This news was announced at Capcom's Tokyo Game Show. Given both series popularity in Japan, this should be huge for gamers over there.
The game is scheduled to be released on December 1 in Japan. The U.S. release date is expected to follow in August 2011, but no firm date has been confirmed as of this writing.
