Fallout: New Vegas Companions Are A Perky Bunch
War never changes, and neither does one nasty fact about Fallout's wasteland: It's a deadly place, even more so if you're foolhardy enough to tackle it alone. Companions have been a part of Fallout for as long as the series has been around, and Fallout: New Vegas is no different.
The PlayStation Blog has a cool little feature that highlights each of the game's eight companions. Six of them are humanoid, and the other two are a bit...different. Perhaps more interesting, each of the characters gives the player a nice passive bonus, in addition to helping out during combat.
For example, Lily, the Nightkin Super Mutant, increases the duration of Stealth Boys by 200 percent and adds an additional 10 percent damage to sneak attack critical hits. Arcade Gannon, a human doctor, appropriately gives health items a boost in effectiveness while the player keeps him around. The robot-dog hybrid Rex (shown above) gives players a Search and Mark perk, which highlights unequipped items in the world when players zoom in the camera.
For the rest of the characters and their associated bonuses, be sure to visit the PlayStation Blog.
