EA Announces Shadows Of The Damned For PS3, 360

by Andrew Reiner on Sep 15, 2010 at 12:42 AM

This year's Tokyo Game Show kicked off in grotesque style with Electronic Arts announcing Shadows of the Damned, a psychological action thriller from Grasshopper Manufacture. Shadows of the Damned features an all-star development team consisting of executive director Suda51 (Killer 7), creative director Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil 4), and music composer Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill).

Due out in the summer of 2011, Shadows of the Damned places players in the role of demon hunter Garcia, a leather-clad, motorcycle enthusiast who finds the love of his life kidnapped by demons. "With Shadows of the Damned, gamers will fight for love in the most difficult arena imaginable...hell," says Mikami. That's right, Garcia is going to hell. And what will he find there? Disturbing imagery, demented creatures, and of course, mind-bending puzzles.

“We are honored to be working with Suda-san and Mikami-san and all of the wonderfully creative minds at Grasshopper," says David DeMartini, senior vice president and general manager of EA Partners. "This is one of the most daring and innovative projects in the EA Partners program." If Suda51 and Mikami's track record speak to what we can expect from this game, Shadows of the Damned will likely be a surreal, over-the-top experience.
