25 Years Of Mario Sales

As you may have heard, it's Mario's 25th anniversary, and the iconic plumber has shifted more than his fair share of games for Nintendo and its systems in that time.

An infograph from French newspaper Le Monde shows the number of copies (in millions) that each Mario game has sold through the 25-year run. It's not surprising that Super Mario Bros. on the NES takes the crown for most sold, but we're a little taken aback that the excellent recent Galaxy series of games on the Wii have done relatively poorly – especially since the Wii's installed base is so big.
